This cultural immersion and service trip will be spent in two very different Muslim majority countries. The bulk of the time will be spent in a wonderful country that has been torn apart by decades of war and violence. Team members will spend time getting to know the national staff, encouraging local believers, learning about local history and culture, and serving in an Uncharted-supported school for very poor children (many are internally displaced people) who would otherwise spend their days working for, often in the streets. On the way home, the team will spend time in Dubai, one of the wealthiest and most diverse global cities. In addition to taking in some of the popular sites, the team will spend time learning about Muslim culture and reflecting on the stark contrast between the two places. Though Uncharted takes safety very seriously, the ongoing security situation in the primary destination is worth being aware of and considering very earnestly. A high level of spiritual maturity and cultural awareness are necessary. This trip is typically open to those 21 and older.
